The Telegraph – Saturday 29th July

CFT CEO SJ Hunt & Michail Harm of Joules

As the official ‘Charity of the Year’ of The Game Fair 2023, we would like to extend our thanks to the organisers, volunteers, and numerous others who supported us at the event last month.

Over the course of the three-day event, we met with a number of Government Ministers, representatives from across the industry, and Game Fair visitors amongst others who visited us to learn about the CFT’s work.

We are thrilled to announce that, thanks to the incredible generosity of our partners, the visitors of The Game Fair, and numerous other supporters, we have successfully raised over £3,000. These funds will be dedicated to producing and distributing our nutritious protein-rich pouches to charities, foodbanks and community kitchens across the UK. This effort will contribute to alleviating food insecurity and ensuring that those who require assistance receive nourishment and support.

The collective efforts of everyone involved have made a tangible and positive impact on the lives of families, individuals, and communities facing challenges. We extend our sincere gratitude to all those who contributed, in particular, Joules, Harkila in association with Philip Morris & Son, Hicks & Brown, Katie Hargreaves Fine Art, Shuttle Socks, Spent Shells, Waring Brooke, and Richard Kirkham.

SJ Hunt, CEO of The Country Food Trust commented: “We were delighted to attend The Game Fair, and to once again be the ‘Charity of the Year.’ Thank you to everyone who came and said hello, and to our partners for supporting the CFT.”

John Jones, Managing Partner at Philip Morris & Son “It has been an absolute pleasure working with the team from the CFT and we are delighted to have helped support the fantastic work they do through our collaboration at The Game Fair. The charity does a remarkable job of utilising meat from shoots and estates to create healthy nutritious meals for individuals facing food insecurity throughout the country.”

Leigh Gosson, Head of Shows at Joules commented: “We have been a proud supporter of The Game Fair for over 30 years, and are delighted to have donated 300 pairs of wellies for the 65th year anniversary photo shoot. These pairs were sold for charity, with all proceeds going to The Country Food Trust. It was incredibly important for us to offer our support to CFT, who help to provide nutritious meals to those in need throughout the country”.

Hopefully see you next year at The Game Fair 2024, 26-28th July, Blenheim Palace!
