Our Patrons have a passion for wild game and combatting food poverty. They endorse our work in a variety of ways, help with fundraising appeals and events, and donate items and experiences for us to auction, helping to raise vital funds. David Gower OBE

Patron

David is described as one of the most stylish left handed batsman of his era, David was also one of the most capped and highest scoring players during his period. He played 117 Test matches and 114 One Day Internationals for England and scored 8,231 and 3,170 runs respectively. He also led England to an Ashes victory in 1985. Today David is the main presenter of international cricket on the Sky Sports alongside another of our great supporters Sir Ian Botham.

Adam Henson

Patron

One of Britain’s best-known farmers, Adam Henson, has joined the charity The Country Food Trust as patron, pledging his support to help tackle the UK’s growing issue of food poverty. Adam is a familiar face to many as a TV presenter and tenant of the Cotswold Farm Park, a 650-hectare mixed farm in the Cotswolds, home to more than 50 breeding flock and herds of British rare breed farm animals.

Mark Hix MBE

Patron

Celebrated chef, restaurateur and food writer Mark Hix is known for his original take on British gastronomy. Mark is frequently lauded as one of London’s most eminent restaurateurs with an unrivalled knowledge of ingredients with provenance. He is an award-winning author and food writer.

Mark received an MBE for his services to hospitality in the New Years’ Honours list 2017.

Phil Spencer

Patron

Phil is a television presenter, author, businessman, property investor and journalist best known as co-presenter of long running property shows Location, Location, Location and Love It Or List It. Phil has been a patron of The Country Food Trust since 2020, and for over twenty years has been a patron of St Mungo’s Homeless Charity based in London. Phil was also recognised in the 2025 Kings New Years Honours list with an MBE for services to charity. Born and brought up on a family farm in Kent he is a country lad through and through. He now lives in Hampshire alongside his various dogs, chickens, horses and sheep.

Mike Robinson

Patron

Mike is one of the world’s most prominent game chefs and a champion of game meat. He is the owner of the Woodsman, Elder and Forge restaurant’s and co owns the legendary Michelin-starred Harwood Arms. He is the TV Presenter of Farming the Wild and is a passionate conservationist managing deer on over 40,000 acres of land.
