The Country Food Trust has now been operating for over three years and it is key we continue to spread the message that there is a charity giving the shooting community something to support that helps those less fortunate than ourselves. To that end we have started to ask well known people who participate in field sports to help us and we are delighted that David Gower from the world of cricket and restaurateur Mark Hix have recently agreed to be Patrons. David gave a wonderful speech supporting The Country Food Trust at The World Gunmakers evening on Thursday 17th May for which we are most grateful and Mark is already providing recipes, auction prizes and plentiful advice, which is highly appreciated.
David Gower
David is described as one of the most stylish left handed batsman of his era, David was also one of the most capped and highest scoring players during his period. He played 117 Test matches and 114 One Day Internationals for England and scored 8,231 and 3,170 runs respectively. He also led England to an Ashes victory in 1985. Today David is the main presenter of international cricket on the Sky Sports alongside another of our great supporters Sir Ian Botham.
