Since I last wrote, I am absolutely delighted to announce that Shelagh has agreed to move from being a consultant to a full time employee at The Country Food Trust and we are delighted to welcome her on board. As a contractor with us, for three months, we already knew that Shelagh possessed a wealth of experience of working within charities, as well as a huge enthusiasm for life and a great sense of humour  (which has been significantly tested, but remains intact!). Shelagh had been responsible for helping us write our handbook, rules and regulations and  sorting out our database as a consultant and going forward she will ensure we keep up to date and remain compliant with the Charity Commission.

Shelagh will also be responsible for the administration and operations of the charity, helping with corporate and trust fund raising and reporting. Like all new charities there are too many roles and not enough people so her role will also cover “everything else”!

Shelagh was a key part of the small team that delivered the Syon House event and saved us significant costs by putting together all the publications and material for the event, as well as keeping us sane. Welcome aboard Shelagh and thanks for everything you have done to help already.

Ambassadors

As our aspiration is to have nationwide appeal and reach, we are seeking two types of ambassador – those who cover a certain area and those who are general and spread the word wherever they go.

I am delighted to announce that David Cecil has very kindly agreed to be our County Ambassador looking after Oxfordshire, whilst Richard Brown, Matthew Gibbens and Chris Horne have all agreed to join as General Ambassadors of the charity. Already all have significantly helped us and we look forward to their guidance and help going forward. If you would like to become an ambassador then please let us know and we would be happy to let you know what we are looking for in both categories. We are very aware that most people are time poor so the roles are flexible and designed to suit you.

Our current Ambassadors are:

County Ambassadors

Richard Bourne-Arton – North Yorkshire

Simon Ford – Gloucestershire

Barney Stratton – Wiltshire

David Cecil – Oxfordshire
