The Country Food Trust, a charitable organisation that offers free and nutritious meals made from surplus game meat to those experiencing food poverty, has been announced as the official charity partner for The Game Fair, taking place at Ragley Hall from 28-30 July. This partnership, first established in 2021, will further raise the profile of the charity and raise vital funds to aid the organisation in feeding a greater number of individuals in need.
The Country Food Trust is a registered charity that aims to combat food poverty in the UK by providing high protein nutritious meals to some of the 13.1 million individuals who living in food poverty. The organisation’s primary mission is offering free, nutritious, high-protein, and low-fat meals to those in need. Its current menu features a range of delicious dishes, including pheasant curry, venison bolognese, and pheasant casserole. Additionally, The Country Food Trust donates raw meat to charities equipped with their own cooking facilities, enabling them to create nutritious meals and teach their beneficiaries how to cook.
The Country Food Trust has made a significant impact in the lives of those facing food poverty since its inception by donating over 2.8 million meals to those in need. The Game Fair, a highlight of the rural calendar now celebrating its 65th edition, provides an excellent opportunity to raise awareness about the charity’s mission to over 120,000 visitors expected to attend over the course of the three-day festival of the countryside. The Country Food Trust will have a presence at the fair, with its team, trustees, and patrons in attendance, sharing the story of the charity and the positive impact of its work both on their stand and in the Carter Jonas Game Fair Theatre.
